and so, there is a community garden next door and dolores park a couple of blocks away and a three month commitment involved…all things i think i can handle right now! keys are picked up tomorrow and moving commences (with the help of my loving, able-bodied roommate Steve) and hopefully Chelsey and i will be able to cram all of our stuff into one room!

in the meantime, i will be packing. which i’m not doing right now because i’m merely writing about packing…but i will pack! after a cup of coffee. and lunch. THEN packing. yeah…

so, i’m up late. i am off tomorrow (today, i suppose) and tuesday and have my first apartment therapy blog post! it is scheduled to go up at 12:15 pacific coast time, as are the rest of my posts! so, monday thru friday, at 12:15 you can read a snippet of design junk from my brain and my online design voyages! it has been pretty fun having “assignments” and work that isn’t related to my day job. i really have to get some new magazine subscriptions, though. i can’t believe Domino is gone—that really sucks. although i am glad i didn’t renew my subscription two months ago when they sent me a notice…that would have been pretty frustrating! (what if they were one renewal away from being able to stay afloat…shit.)

ok. i just realized how tired i am. it’s 2:18am. i am an idiot for still being awake.

stay still…stop tossing and turning and sleep already!

easy…this isn’t that kind of blog! it’s cold here and i have no heater in my partment! blake gave me a space heater and it is keeping me from freezing my butt off right now. the last few nights i would just come home, and since my couch is my bed, i would sit on my couch(bed) and try to do things, but get too cold, so i would get under the covers, but then i’m under the covers, and it’s like i’m in bed (cause i am) and i get all cozy and fall asleep. at 9. no good. but too cold to not be in bed(couch) doing other things! so now, i am warm and can do things like not fall asleep at 9!

such a good boyfriend! (ooh, and he bought me tickets to rogue wave on friday! as a surprise! he’s a keeper…)

this is awesome. when i go to the polls bright and early tomorrow morning, i will be voting for proposition R here in california. allow me to transcribe it for you:

i’m not making this up.

so, i was going through my over-filled email inbox, trying to stay sort of organized, and was reading a bunch of old emails from the last six months! oh, man! the memories conjured up with little tidbits of conversation speedily shot into the electronic mail system! south by southwest, hummus recipes, silly dreams, all the ladies nights, parties, kickball—it’s making me miss austin quite a bit! that’s what i get for trying to stay organized…

that, and a quarter gets you 4 minutes on a parking meter in downtown san francisco. 4 minutes!!!

so, apparently, i am moving from the city that placed first, yes FIRST in “hard drinking” by Forbes, to the city that placed third! well, that ought to be a little bit better, oughtn’t it!? either that or i am going to show up and the whole city is going to think i’m a total lush..

so, i started boxing my things last night…literally punching my things in the face and telling them to “go to san francisco!”…and it is a bit strange. i took the polaroid wall down, which seemed pretty sentimental and–oh, i don’t know–real! and boxing up the books. the easiest and heaviest boxes to pack! i’m really going to try to be discriminating about what i haul across the country, but i can’t seem to part with the books. oh well. three boxes ain’t too bad…

so, here’s hoping that i can find an apartment in san francisco p.d.q. to put all this stuff i’m packing so carefully!

apparently, too, i’ve missed seeing david hasselhoff in san francisco by a mere two weeks. bummer.

well, i have to say that as much as i love the town that i have emblazoned on my skin with it’s rich, laid back culture, it’s amazing music energy and the wonderful friends that i boast ownership of, it’s fucking hot here.

they were five amazing days in san francisco, where i was chilly at times, completely comfortable the majority of the time, and never once did i feel that i would burst into flames. just five days, and i’m spoiled! i just walked to work and the heat and humidity is enough to instantly make me cranky. it’s 56 in s.f. right now, at 8am. it’s 82 here. ugh.

stay still…don’t work up a sweat.

so now i am obsessing, virtually. checking craigslist every day, daydreaming, and attempting not to go completely insane! another trip to sf friday should only serve to enhance the sense of postponed excitement, but perhaps there will be some progress made, as well!
