moving…again (and again)
August 16, 2009

and so, there is a community garden next door and dolores park a couple of blocks away and a three month commitment involved…all things i think i can handle right now! keys are picked up tomorrow and moving commences (with the help of my loving, able-bodied roommate Steve) and hopefully Chelsey and i will be able to cram all of our stuff into one room!
in the meantime, i will be packing. which i’m not doing right now because i’m merely writing about packing…but i will pack! after a cup of coffee. and lunch. THEN packing. yeah…
stay still…or you will be put into a box.
and thus, it begins (again)
August 13, 2009

so here is the part where i stay in san francisco, despite a very reasonable and amazing plan to return to austin. here’s the part where i feel that i will regret leaving this city just as i really feel that i am getting to know it. without the 2 hour commute to a shitty job and a boyfriend that occupies at least a minimal amount of my time. here is the part where i scare the shit out of myself because i quit my job a month ago and don’t, yet, have another one!
but here is also the part where i really do try as hard as i can, with all of the creative energy in my body, and all of the ambitious determination i can muster, to find my way here in san francisco. i will push until i run out of money or energy. (and then i will push a little more). and then we will see what happens.
now is not the time to stay still. now is the time to climb to the top of the tower.

academy of awesome
March 13, 2009
lucia and i attended “nightlife” at the academy of sciences last night, and it was amazing! definitely going again, and have to take more photos! the ones we got were pretty great…check them out here!

stay still…or the monkeys will land on your head!
pacifica. not just a day at the beach. well, actually…yeah, it was a day at the beach
March 10, 2009
the weather was gorgeous, and although it wasn’t what i would call “warm” i scooped up lucia and bobby and we went to the beach! jackson (kinda) played in the water, and ran freely on the beach for a while, and we hiked to the top of the cliff and sat in the gorgeousness for a while. it was good!

here are all of the pictures!
stay still…you can smell the ocean.
my eye is twitching and i can’t stop sneezing.
December 31, 2008
what better place to go when you can’t stop sneezing than the museum of modern art! the sound reverberates like you’re in a concert hall. it’s great! it was nice, though, because on a tuesday the sfmoma isn’t quite as insanely crowded. read: i could see the artwork! there were some really great works, some artists i was familiar with, some not. highlights?

this was a huge roll of paper on an old Associated Press news ticker. it just kept feeding story after story from the AP and the paper sort of never ends. it just piles up on the floor. it was great.

great.

not sure if it reads here, but there are so many more branches in this image. it is a photograph that the artist painted on with gouache. so she sort of created this tree out of another tree by selectively allowing certain branches to show. it is huge and gorgeous.

joseph albers work–it’s awesome in person. this is the gentleman who my design professor, Shawn McKinney, told me one of my projects resembled. i took it as a compliment! here’s that project…we had to design words of our choosing on 4+ panels. i chose you are my sunshine:

it was great to go to the museum, by myself, wander around at my leisure and see what i wanted, skip what i wanted! great place to go sneeze on your day off. then, bikram yoga! didn’t sneeze much there–too hot to sneeze!
well, last day of 2008 tomorrow, that’s fairly ridiculous, really! i am ill-prepared to deal with 2009 as the year. good things ahead, though! weddings, and new presidents and a plethora of other amazing new excitement! for now, i am going to bed. sweating that much takes it out of ya!
stay still…you’ll sweat from placed you diidn’t know you could!
i just got my butt grabbed…
December 6, 2008
oh, my! as if it weren’t bad enough that my commute home tonight took twice as long as normal, i’m walking down mission and all of a sudden i feel my ass being…well, i guess caressed! i mean, it wasn’t a pinch, but it was more than just a cupping of the buttock! anyway, i turn around and there’s this 5′4″ drunk young mexican guy saying “hey baby” and some sort of spanglish invitation to, well, whatever! then he started trying to back me into the wall, so that’s when (after initially yelling, “what the fuck!?”) i told him to get the fuck away from me or i would punch him in the face! after a few more choice words i ducked into a chinese food restaurant and now, i’m eating fried rice at home telling you guys about it. don’t worry, mom, i’m fine!
hello san francisco.
oh, well. as blake says (after checking on me fastidiously) it must be evidence that i’m getting exponentially hotter by the minute! such a good boyfriend…

stay still…and get your butt grabbed, apparently!
